In my opinion, this is the best gay bar in the Village. Forget Stonewall or Julius or Cubbyhole; they're either too touristy, too pricey, or too old-hat. Duplex is loud, fun, and cramped with two totally different vibes upstairs (dancing) and downstairs (piano bar). They have a great lineup of piano players who always do audience requests for sing-alongs, and the music upstairs is always great for dancing. Bartenders and waitresses around are fast and you're never waiting long for a drink.

Absolutely loved this place! Super friendly bar staff, piano singalong was awesome! Bar woman singing while doing drinks was amazing. So so good! I wish we had something like this in Australia. Definitely a NYC highlight for me!

Ah! The Duplex! Everything about this place screams good times! The first floor has an exit to the patio area and there is also a piano where all the good songs are being performed. The second floor, on the night when I was there had a drag performance. The drag in question is Pink Pancake (if I remember the name correctly) and she is one fierce performer! Definitely a must visit!

5 stars is not enough for this AMAZING, absolutely UNREAL masterpiece of art and talent. Perfect acoustics, excellent sound, and above all — sheer live talent! ten out of five stars!

An amazing night out is always guaranteed with The Duplex. Their amazing drinks (strong!) and service is always with a smile. Come for the drinks but stay for the amazing singing and music, especially with T-Rex and Paddy on the Piano. The bathrooms are ok, clean enough and the attendant is really sweet. Security were friendly and polite, keeping us all safe. Bring cash for tips for songs if there is something you wish to be sung (or Cashapp / Venmo).

Masks and proof of vaccination including boosters are required and checked at the door. The cabaret was small and intimate holding about 50 people. The music of Jessie and Michael was absolutely fabulous. The only thing was that it took an hour to leave because of all the checks were payed after the program was over. There was also a mix up with my friend's credit card and he had to search for the waitress to retrieve it. In spite of the issues I would definitely return.

Luke was our bartender and he made our experience so positive! He was super attentive and friendly. I would come back just to have him as our bartender. Great vibe and energy I will def be back!

One night I was there with my girlfriend (upstairs), and a drunk couple were acting like they have lost their phone. They started accusing people around them that, somehow someone have the phone. The funny part was that the drunk lady was holding a phone in her hands while going through people’s belongings. I guess sometimes the people they were trying to rob, didn’t bring anything valuable with them. Other than this incident, the bar downstairs was super chill, good drinks, awesome vibe and great musicians and performances.
